1. CONSULTANTS

Fabian Energy (K) Ltd. has several opportunities for consultants and subject matter experts in various fields, including corporate social responsibility, Human Resources, Administration, Security, Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Marine and Offshore segments. Our consultants are majorly drawn from the local market, and they bring on-board valuable experience drawn from their years of extensive work in their respective fields of practise. FEKL typically engages the services of consultants in either of two levels, i.e., at the design level, or at the operations & maintenance level.
At the design level, our consultants are engaged in either green-field or brown-field design of capital projects, and supervise the construction and commissioning of such projects. Likewise, consultants engaged under any of our CSR programs undertake feasibility studies, target mapping, resource mobilization, resource management, monitoring & evaluation of CSR programs. Engagements at this level follow through FEKL Tendering procedures, whilst the durations of engagement are typically for the scheduled duration of the projects.
At the operations and maintenance level, our consultants are engaged in specialist areas in support of regular operations. These include training of our resident staff in various fields like administration, occupational health & safety, fire fighting, anti-corruption, operations & maintenance of specialist machinery and equipment, and security. Engagements at this level follow through established procedures for pre-qualification of suppliers and service providers, and vary in duration from a minimum of 3 days to a maximum of 14 days.

2. PROFESSIONALS.

Fabian Energy (K) Ltd. has several in-house opportunities for Professionals in five departments, i.e., departments of technical services, operations, finance & treasury, legal services, and security services. Typically, the entry level for Professionals is either Job Group Fabian 05, i.e., Superintending Officer for senior professionals, or Job Group Fabian 07, i.e., General staff for junior professionals. Senior professionals to be on-boarded by FEKL typically should have a university degree with atleast eight years of continuous work experience in their respective fields of practice post-graduation, are members of professional bodies in their career lines, and are registered to practice as professionals in their respective disciplines by the regulatory bodies in their various career lines. Junior professionals shall typically have a minimum of a diploma with a minimum of three (3) years of working experience in their respective fields of practice post-graduation. Staff recruitments at this level are through a competitive process in accordance with the FEKL Schemes of Service.

The terms of service for professionals in the construction phase is 1 year renewable contracts to be extended in accordance with the duration of the project, whilst typical terms of service for professionals in the operations & maintenance phase is permanent & pensionable. Professionals who are engaged for the latter have an opportunity for career progression upto Job Group Fabian 02, i.e., Head of Department.

3. TRADESPERSONS.

Tradespersons are specialists with skills-set and competencies in a particular trade. Typically their knowledge and experience is specific to “hand-on” work in specific assignments, which do not require broad managerial skills & competencies. However, tradespersons can be allowed to manage units of upto a maximum of three staff in the implementation of specific tasks related to only their field of expertise.
Fabian Energy (K) Ltd. has several in-house opportunities for Tradespersons under the Projects section. Staff recruitments under this category is either Job Group Fabian 07, i.e., Construction Technician {for tradespersons with atleast 5 years of work experience in their respective trades} or Job Group Fabian 08, i.e., Construction Assistant {for tradespersons with less than three years of work experience in their respective trades}.
Employment of tradespersons is specific to a project, and are valid for the duration of that project. Upon the elapse of a Contract of engagement, staff who were employed under this category are at liberty either to exit the company, or to apply for employment to any available vacancies that match their skills and competencies in the operations and maintenance level, subject to the FEKL Schemes of Service.

The FEKL Internship Program is designed for fresh graduates who are holders of either a Diploma or Undergraduate Degree, but lack relevant industrial exposure and/or formal working experience that may enable them secure gainful employment in any organization. Intake into the Internship program is competitive and takes place at the start of every financial year. The program runs for 12 months through which individuals are taken through rigorous hand-on technical work related to their disciplines of study, across all business segments of Fabian Energy (K) Ltd.
Throughout the program, Interns are mentored and superivsed by the superintending officer in-charge of the particular business section. Our internship program exposes graduates to work life after school, and is in-part designed to ensure a transition from academia to industry. Graduates who elect to follow through this career path can build their work experience under this program, and are prioritized in employment on permanent and pensionable terms should a vacancy arise that matches their skills and competencies.
Typically the entry level for internship at FEKL is Job Group Fabian 07, with the option for career progression to any job group of interest upon attaining the required level of work experience.

Our Apprentice program is designed to accommodate persons who have a minimum of an O-level qualification but do not have any formal academic and/or technical training in any discipline, and who would like to work and grow with the company. The FEKL Apprentice Program shall have an in-take every 3 calendar years, whereby a set number of vacancies shall be advertised to the general public for subsequent staff recruitments. The entry point for Apprentices in the FEKL schemes of service is Job Group Fabian 08, with options of career progression upto Fabian 02, i.e. Head of Department.
Individuals who elect to follow this career path are taken through the company’s continuous professional development program, and are mentored by the superintending officer in-charge of the particular section. The FEKL CPD program has several varied options for sponsoring staff to further academic training in local institutions of higher learning in order to raise the competence levels of staffers in this program to the requirements set out in the FEKL Schemes of Service.
The FEKL Apprentice Program is designed to build the local capacity with practical hands-on skills, academic knowledge and management competencies on specific areas of interest that apply to company operations.
